UPDATE: First Customs Technical Handbooks Have Been Published

On Friday 31 January 2025, guidance on gov.uk was updated to fully reflect the new Safety & Security requirements. Alongside this guidance, the new Safety & Security Customs Technical Handbook was also published Safety and security declarations - Guidance - GOV.UK

The publication of the first two Customs Technical Handbooks is an excellent example of collaboration between HMRC and our stakeholder partners and provides a new level of guidance to support technical traders and those undertaking complex movements. We would like to thank everyone who has assisted in reviewing and commenting on these new products.

There will be further Customs Technical Handbooks being published throughout the spring, covering a range of customs topics, including those in relation to authorisations.
